At the heart of the island tragedy and water problem is an environmental problem such as global climate change. But it is a pity that this topic is not sufficiently covered in the republic’s media, and as a result, people have practically no information about the consequences and dangers of climate change. After all, Uzbekistan has developed measures to mitigate the consequences of climate change in connection with global climate change. In our country, climate change issues have been given a special national status. Speeches on this topic mainly concern experts. In the large article “Global Climate Change” authored by academician I. Abdurakhmanov, published on the website yuz.uz of the newspaper “Yany Uzbekistan” https://yuz.uz/news/global-iqlim-oglukansi, May 30: 2021, Korea Overcoming the consequences climate change, green recovery and ensuring carbon neutrality are on the agenda of the second international summit “Green Growth and Cooperation for Global Goals - 2030”, held in the form of a videoconference in Seoul at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in, as well as issues of achieving the Goals sustainable development of the UN and implementation of the provisions of the Paris Climate Agreement. The article is devoted to the consequences of climate change and what needs to be paid attention to to overcome them. But there are very few articles devoted to this problem in detail. In addition, the title of the article is too general, does not attract the reader’s attention, and does not fully disclose the content of the material. “Climate Change and Humanity” was published on the website kun.uz with the largest audience. Threats that may arise as a result of global warming"
In the title article, journalist D. Akhrorov tried to explain the problem as a whole and, in most cases, cited examples from abroad. In just one paragraph, he raised the issue “Climate change is causing several negative consequences in Uzbekistan” and listed the consequences of climate change in our country. The recommendations are also very general. A similar approach can be found in the articles “What measures should be taken to prevent global climate change?”, “Climate change can cause new epidemics and the global spread of bacteria”, “Uzbekistan”. How prepared are you for climate change?” https://uza.uz/uz/posts/climate-change-causes-new-epidemics-and-global-spread-of-bacteria-may-be_293150
can also be seen in journalistic materials such as

The problem of global climate change is discussed today in several republican publications - "Khalk sozi", "Jamiyat", "XX1 asr" newspapers, "Yangi Avlod", "Ekologiya Khabarnomasi" magazines, Sharh.uz, uza.uz websites. although it is covered, the topic of global climate change is not systematically covered in Uzbekistan. In 2016-2017, the Journalist Retraining Center of Uzbekistan, with the financial support of the Canadian Foundation for Citizen Initiatives, held a seminar training on the topic "Increasing the capacity of journalists to cover the problem of global climate change in the media" in all regions of the republic, and at the end of the project, he announced a contest among journalists.
According to the results of the competition and the monitoring carried out in the first half of 2010-2022, it became known that 226 journalistic materials were published in the republican press on this topic. Also, in journalistic materials, showing the consequences of climate change and adapting to it as an example of a hero (farmer, water, energy consumer, etc.), environmental videos dedicated to climate change and its consequences, which have a journalistic approach in general 'q. However, in recent years, it has been felt that the problem of climate change is affecting Uzbekistan as well.
The reaction to the problem of waste, which is one of the most urgent problems, was rather weak until 2017, and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan issued an order on April 21, 2017 "Measures to ensure the organization of the State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan" about https://lex.uz/docs/3190804
In the decision No. PQ-2915, among other important issues, the task of eliminating the waste problem in the republic was considered. Since that day, attention to the waste problem has increased in our country. Of course, this was also reflected in the mass media and social networks.
"The problem of waste in Uzbekistan: paying landfills, unprotected nature, the need for a new mechanism" prepared by S. Abdurahmonova, a reporter of the kun.uz site in particular https://kun.uz/news/2019/07/24/ozbekistonda-chiqindi- the problem of landfills-unprotected-nature-needs-a-new-mechanism
The problem is well analyzed in the article. Adolat newspaper reporter S. Mamirov also said, "Waste police is needed (MI?). When it comes to the issue of waste... stranger" http://www.adolatgzt.uz/society/5892
In his article, he takes an analytical approach to the issue and mainly notes that the population of Tashkent lacks environmental culture in this regard. However, most of the analytical articles were written in 2019-2021, and recently there are almost no analytical articles on this topic. Materials are mainly in the form of messages. This includes "A new landfill for household waste can be established", https://xs.uz/uzkr/post/maishij-chiqindilar-uchun-yangi-poligon-tashkil-etilizi-mumkin "Photo report from the Ohangaron landfill, where tons of waste are dumped in a day ", https://www.khabar.uz/jamiyat/kuniga-tonnalab-chiqindi-tokidyan "If there is no urn on the street, where should one throw the waste?"
materials such as Unfortunately, such messages and correspondences do not help the reader, viewer, or listener to study the topic in depth, change their opinion about waste, and form an ecological culture.
To conclude, the coverage of environmental problems in the mass media of the republic depends primarily on the extent to which the population is aware of them. Because the consequences of climate change (decreased precipitation, extreme temperature, etc.) are just happening in our country, journalists have not paid enough attention to this issue. However, since the water problem has been bothering the population for years, and the issue of waste has become more urgent in recent years, these topics are often reflected in the media. In recent years, measures to eliminate environmental problems are carried out - journalistic materials published in newspapers, magazines, television, radio, online media, and social networks, contests, the State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection, and the Ecological Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan movement, actions carried out by the Ecological Party (every year in the spring and summer months, volunteers and journalists are involved in a waste collection campaign in mountain recreation areas), conferences, meetings, roundtable discussions to educate the population about existing environmental problems informing, engaging citizens to eliminate them has increased significantly.
It should be noted that eco-journalists are not trained in any higher education institution in our republic. This field is not taught as a separate field in journalism faculties. Journalists and bloggers who work on the topic of ecology improve their skills at trainings, seminars and media tours held for representatives of the field.
