Information began to spread on social networks and instant messengers about wolves that were apparently seen in the village of Yom, Zaamin district. The message says that “In the village of Yom, Zaamin district, at night wolves attacked sheep. The shepherd heard a noise and saw sheep being slaughtered. The shepherd was forced to take additional measures. He called the hunters, and in the field they discovered the corpse of a man, killed by wolves.”
The information turned out to be false.

Factcheckker.uz checked the information.
Photos of killed animals and the alleged fact that 15 wolves ran into the village between Kirsanov and Umet in the Tambov region of Russia, eight of them were allegedly shot by hunters, and seven wolves escaped, was also published in the Russian media. The message warns Kirsanov and Umet residents about the danger of an attack by wolves, who allegedly have already killed a person.
Also, a photo with the man’s torn body was published in the media of the Kalinisky region of the Russian Federation. The note says: “In the Kalininsky district on January 14, a man’s body was found in a field between the Zhuravlevka and Dzhumailovka farms. At that time, his body had already been gnawed by wild birds and stray dogs, and it is possible that his bones were eaten by jackals, the Kuban Ministry of Natural Resources reported on January 18. The deceased turned out to be 47-year-old Alexey from the neighboring village of Masenkovsky, Kub Mash reports. He disappeared on January 7th. Kalininsky district authorities told reporters that no one had been looking for the man all this time. His body was found by accident."

“The situation was commented on by Alexey Sokolov, head of the department for the protection, reproduction and use of fauna and their habitats of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Tambov Region.
“Our ministry has not received any information about attacks by wild animals on humans: neither fatal nor non-fatal. There was also no information from hunters or game users about the harvest of wolves, especially in such quantities as in those photographs. Neither last year nor this year there were any accidents involving wild animals in the Tambov region. Registration data shows about 4 wolves in our region, in fact there are no more than 15 in the entire region. But again, they do not move in a flock, but are dispersed throughout the region, mainly in the forests of the Morshansky and Pichaevsky districts. Therefore, the likelihood of a wolf attacking a person in our region is not high.
Those who spread this fake news apparently took the photo of the dead man from one of the media outlets in the Krasnodar region. There, in mid-January of this year, such a terrible find was discovered in a field between the Zhuravlevka and Dzhumailovka farms. At first, the Kuban residents also assumed that the man had been killed by wild animals, but the information was not confirmed; there were no traces of a wolf near him. In addition, a wolf, like any wild animal, does not attack a person if he does not pose a danger to the animal’s life, and generally tries to avoid meeting a person,” said Alexey Gennadievich.”
