A photo of a girl “pregnant from a fish” has appeared on social networks in Uzbekistan.
Factchecker.uz decided to check this fact. The message says that “a girl swimming in the sea during her period accidentally became pregnant from a fish.”
It has been revealed that the girl in the photo is 17-year-old Kimberly, a girl from Bacacay City in the Philippines. Her belly has been growing for seven months, and during this time, she has gained 10 kilograms. Her family thought that the girl was hiding her boyfriend, but Kimberly defended herself, saying that she did not even have any suitors, much less a boyfriend.
Residents of the Philippine province of Albay believe that a 17-year-old girl is pregnant with a fish
The people of these islands have a long-standing superstition: during menstruation, women should not swim in the ocean or even in rivers. In fact, they must wait five days after this period before they can enjoy swimming. On the show KMJS, a Philippine TV channel, it was explained that swimming in the ocean during menstruation can cause diseases. In addition, it can attract sea creatures such as fish, octopuses, and eels.
By the way, Kimberly had an ultrasound of her belly, where they found a creature that looked like a fish.
Of course, this news made the townspeople talk about nothing else!
But after getting a second opinion, Kimberly learned that she actually had an ovarian cyst. Her doctors shattered the townspeople's faith and said that it was impossible for a person to have a live fish living in their stomach, much less in a woman's womb.
Kimberly now needs surgery. She needs to have the cyst removed, otherwise it could rupture inside her body and she could get an infection.
